Microsoft SQL Server– runs best in a Windows environment. Can be coupled with .NET and JAVA infrastructure to deliver simple or complex IT solutions. Only runs in Windows Server 2005 or 2008 on x86 servers.
MySQL– Sun's Open Source Software Stack (CoolStack) distribution is optimised for the robust Solaris 10 OS, which runs on CoolThreads and x86 servers. MySQL is also available for Windows and Linux on x86 servers.
PostgreSQL– supports complex queries, multi-terabyte databases and thousands of concurrent users. Fully integrated in Solaris 10. Runs on CoolThreads and x86 servers. Also available for Windows and Linux on x86 servers.
