PRODUCT DETAILS

With Databases growing in size and complexity the key factor is response time. Since all actions on a database initiate a lot of disk activity, it is very soon realised that the speed of the database is directly proportional to the speed of the storage being used. A database that was installed and had quick response time originally soon becomes unresponsive as the data or user base grows. Solid State Disk, having no moving parts, is up to 200 times faster than regular disk. It has near zero latency and therefore is ideally suited to the movement of small amounts of randomly placed data.

Solid State Disk can provide unparalleled performance to eradicate I/O bottlenecks caused by conventional disk subsystems. Used in conjunction with the disk storage, the Solid State Disk can hold the "Hot Files" -- those that have the highest access rates, to improve response times.

All of the 4Gb Solid State Disk models are RoHS compliant.

BACKUP PROCEDURES

Supports three backup modes that are configurable per system or per LUN:

• Data Sync mode - synchronises data to redundant internal disk drives before shutdown or with power loss

• Mirror mode - mirrors data to redundant internal disk drives in real time for read-intensive data

• Active BackupTM mode (optional) - backs up data constantly to internal redundant disks without impacting system performance.
