Whilst SSD has been available for some time in Sun's S7000 unified storage server, you can now purchase individual 32GB SSD drives that will plug directly into spare disk slots in your Sparc Enterprise T5xxx and most Sun Fire X4xxx servers as well as most Sun Blade 6000 T or X blades.

These SSD drives deliver up to 35,000 read IOPS or 7,000 write IOPS and are easily integrated into your application or database design using Sun Solaris and ZFS.
