In addition, two 4-hour e-Practice exams (WGS-PREX-200C and WGS-PREX-202C) are included to help students prepare for the included Solaris 10 Upgrade exam, Sun Certified System Administrator for the Solaris 10 Operating System (CX-310-203). This course provides the essential differences between Solaris 8, Solaris 9 and Solaris 10. The course covers skills and tasks that are new and changed in Solaris 10. Sun Certified System Administrator for the Solaris 10 OS Upgrade Exam (CX-310-203)
The Sun Certified System Administrator for Solaris 10 Operating System Upgrade Exam is geared toward those candidates with one or more years of experience in a Solaris Operating System. The Upgrade certification exam requires extensive knowledge of the Solaris 10 OS system administration features as covered in the SA-200-S10, SA-202-S10, and WSB-204-S10 courseware. And that the test candidate has system administration expertise for both SPARC, x64, and x86 based systems. The exam includes multiple-choice, scenario-based questions, drag-and-drop questions and requires extensive knowledge on new and advanced Solaris Administration topics. Including how to manage file systems, install software, perform system boot and shutdown procedures, perform user and security administration, use Service Management Facility, Solaris zones, and perform advanced installation procedures. This exam is for candidates who have already successfully completed the Sun Certified System Administrator Exam, both Part I and Part II of a previous version of the Solaris OS (2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 7, 8, 9). Reseller exams are not applicable. Candidates who are not previously certified cannot take the upgrade exam. In addition, the test candidate's Solaris OS Certification must have been in the complete Solaris Certification track (that is, the student must have taken and passed the Solaris 7 OS System Administration I and the Solaris 7 OS System Administration II exam).
